After his brilliant tenure as SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli to serve in Cabinet Secretariat

Jammu, Oct 14: Appointed as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu on March 19, 2021, senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Chandan Kohli is going to serve as Deputy Secretary in the Senior Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat on deputation basis.
During this tenure as 30 months tenure as SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli solved various terror incident. During his tenure that SSP Chandan Kohli foiled terror attack when five Pakistani terrorists were timely eliminated at Nagrota.
In July 2022, Jammu Police under the leadership of Chandan Kohli, arrested a dreaded terrorist Faisal Muneer from the Talab Khatikan area of Jammu City.
Faisal Muneer was collecting money and arms dropped by Pakistani drones near International Border in Jammu province. After collecting consignments dropped by Pakistani drones, Faisal used to deliver the same to terrorists active in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country.
Important to mention here that the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Friday approved the appointment of senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Chandan Kohli as Deputy Secretary in the Senior Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat on deputation basis.
Kohli, who is an IPS officer of 2013 batch of AGMUT cadre, will be on deputation for a period of four years.
As per a communique of MHA, referring to its Office Memorandum dated October 10, 2023, addressed to the J&K Chief Secretary, the Union Territory administration has been directed to relieve the IPS officer immediately to enable him to take up his new assignment at the Centre.
“…the competent authority has approved the appointment of Chandan Kohli, IPS (AGMUT: 2013) as Deputy Secretary in the Senior Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat on a deputation basis. It is, therefore, requested that he may be relieved immediately, under intimation to this Ministry, to enable him to take up his new assignment at the Centre on a deputation basis,” read an MHA communique.
