Kathua, Oct 20: The District Police in Kathua, under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Sh. Shivdeep Singh Jamwal JKPS, has launched a special drive to apprehend long-standing absconders, resulting in the arrest of two individuals. In the first instance, on October 20, 2023, the Rajbagh Police Station arrested Abdul Majid, son of Abdul Gani, a resident of Rangora in Jammu. The accused had been evading arrest and was an absconder against whom a warrant under Section 512 CrPC had been issued by the court of law in connection with FIR No. 41/2013 U/S 188/RPC, 3/PCA of PS Rajbagh. Authorities had been searching for the defendant since the issuance of the warrant. A team from the Rajbagh Police Station, led by Insp. Tariq Ahmed, SHO PS Rajbagh, under the guidance of SDPO Border, Sh. Dheeraj Singh Katoch JKPS, made the arrest and subsequently presented the absconder in the court of law. In the second instance, on the same date, the Kathua Police Station arrested another absconder, Subash Chandar, son of Belli Ram, hailing from Kawa, Udhampur, Tehsil & District Udhampur. He had been evading arrest, and a warrant under Section 512 CrPC had been issued by the court of law in connection with FIR No. 200/2007 U/S 279/337/IPC of PS Kathua. Authorities had been searching for the defendant since the warrant's issuance. A team from the Kathua Police Station, led by Insp. Sudhir Sadhotra, SHO PS Kathua, and assisted by IC PP Hatli, under the guidance of DySP Hqrs Kathua, Sh. Manjeet Singh, made the arrest and subsequently presented the absconder in the court of law. These arrests reflect the Kathua Police's commitment to bringing absconders to justice, ensuring that individuals facing legal action are held accountable for their actions. |
