Jammu, Oct 20: A day after announcing new office bearers of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), the Congress high command has directed local leadership to focus only on the coming Parliamentary elections because chances of the maiden Assembly polls in the Union Territory of J&K are bleak. Highly placed sources said that the Congress high command has directed the local leadership to prepare panels of candidates for Jammu and Udhampur Lok Sabha seats as early as possible to start preparations for the Parliamentary elections. “High command has made it clear that maiden Assembly elections are unlikely to be held before the Lok Sabha polls so it unwise to waste time on assembly polls”, sources said and added that newly appointed office bearers would be assigned jobs very soon for the Parliamentary elections.
