JSS hosts Inter-School Competition on Climate Action

JAMMU, Oct 21: Jammu Sanskriti School in Jammu was filled with an atmosphere of celebration as teachers and students from various schools gathered to enthusiastically participate in an Inter-School Competition with the theme "Climate Action." Over 100 students from more than 10 schools across the city showcased their skills in various events, with the aim of nurturing and empowering young minds.
The inter-school competition featured a variety of events that combined talent, imagination, creativity, and alertness. Students prepared diligently to excel in activities like Fancy Dress, Show and Tell, and Dance with Drama. The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a presentation of Nav Durga Swaroop by young girls from the Pre-Primary section.
Nidhi Kohli, Principal Kindergarten, welcomed the gathering and appreciated the participation of renowned schools. Students from Jammu Sanskriti School presented various cultural events, including a Welcome Song, Group Dance, Sanskrit Shloka recitations, and a mesmerizing Puppet Show performed by teachers on the theme of "Climate Action" and its impact on living beings. Their enthusiasm and brilliance were fully reflected in their performances.
The chief guest for the event was Rupa Gupta, Joint Director of MIER College of Education, and Deepika Gupta, Principal of Ola World School, Bishnah, was the Special Invitee. Additionally, eminent personalities from the town attended the program as judges for various events, including Harleen Kour, Dr. Sheetal Karan Chalhotra, and Navdeep Kour. The school was delighted to felicitate these distinguished guests.
Students were awarded certificates of achievement and trophies. In the "Nurture Nature - Fancy Dress" category, the 1st Prize went to Tavnish Kour from Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, and Zayna Fatima from IDPS Jammu. The 2nd prize was secured by Gurnaaz Kour from JK Public School and Chaishavi Sharma from K.C International School, while the 3rd Prize was awarded to Jeevika Bhargav from Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua. A consolation prize was given to Vaibhav Singh from Shemford Futuristic School.
In the "Greener Future - Show & Tell" category, the 1st prize was won by Bhanu Pratap Choudhary from Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, and Maanya Jamwal from Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua. The 2nd prize was secured by Rudhavi Verma from J.K. Public School, and the 3rd Prize was awarded to Vinayak Sharma from Shemford Futuristic School. A consolation prize was given to Amirah Aziz from IDPS School.
For the "Econama - Dance & Drama" category, the 1st Prize was won by Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, and TAPPS Jammu Cantonment. The 2nd Prize was secured by Sunrise Higher Secondary School, and the 3rd prize was awarded to R.M Public School. A consolation prize was awarded to Army Public School.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Ms. Harmeet Kour, Assistant Coordinator, Pre-Primary. Rohini Aima, Principal Cum Vice-Chairperson, appreciated all the participants and highlighted the unlimited potential in every individual that can be honed at every opportunity and at every stage.
