Jammu, Oct 25: The Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) organized an interactive meeting with the Police Department at the Chamber House, attended by several distinguished individuals, including Vinod Kumar, IPS SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli, IPS Dy. Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi, and Faisal Qureshi, JKPS SSP Traffic. Arun Gupta, who welcomed the dignitaries, highlighted the positive role played by the Police Department, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic and post the abrogation of Article 370. He noted the absence of untoward incidents due to the department’s efforts and the capture of militants and overground workers of various militant outfits. He also praised the Police Department for the recovery of a significant quantity of arms and ammunition during various operations. Gupta acknowledged the cordial and cooperative relationship between the public and the Police Department in recent times and expressed hope for its continuation in the future. He also recognized the services of Chandan Kohli, IPS, during his tenure as SSP Jammu, where he managed to considerably reduce the crime rate. Gupta extended best wishes to Kohli on his new assignment. He also welcomed Sh. Vinod Kumar, IPS, on assuming the role of SSP Jammu and expressed hope for stronger public-police relations during his tenure. Arun Gupta, President of CCI, commended the traffic police department for their cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the business community. He requested that only major traffic violators should be penalized, sparing innocent citizens from fines. Chandan Kohli, IPS, thanked the people of Jammu and CCI for their support during his time as SSP Jammu. He stressed the importance of working together for the betterment of society and mentioned his efforts to provide better and hassle-free services to the people of Jammu. Faisal Qureshi, JKPS SSP Traffic, assured Chamber members that he would consider their suggestions made during the meeting. Vinod Kumar, IPS SSP Jammu, assured Chamber members that he would work to continue building positive police-public relations. Several prominent members of the Chamber were also present at the meeting, including Anil Gupta, Sr. Vice President CCI, Rajeev Gupta, Jr. Vice President CCI, and various other respected individuals from the business community. |
