Tributes paid to legendary novelist Shri Krishan Chander on his 113 Birth Anniversary

POONCH, Nov 16 Renowned novelist and short story writer, Shri Krishan Chander was paid rich tributes on his 113th Birth Anniversary, here today. Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary garlanded the bust of the legendary Hindi and Urdu Writer of Poonch
The event was also attended by prominent literary personalities of Poonch including Pardeep Khanna, Khurshid Rather, Prem Parkash, Dr. Zamrud Mughal and enthusiastic children, who converged to honour the memory and legacy of this literary icon.
The event commenced with Deputy Commissioner and literary figures gathering to pay their respects to the one of the tallest 20th century litterateur here at Krishan Chander Park in Poonch. Later, the DC and others visited the memorial of Krishan Chander and inspected the premises. On the demand of the literary personalities, Deputy Commissioner assured immediate steps for the renovation of the premises to attract the visitors. He also issued direction to Floriculture department to restore the dysfunctional Fountains and beauty the surrounding landscape. The children present at the event evinced great interest in the life and works of the great author. The Deputy Commissioner advised the students to read the literary works of Krishan Chander and follow the footsteps of Late Krishan Chander.
During the program, the Deputy Commissioner addressed the literary figures of Poonch and assured them of the administration’s commitment towards developing the Krishan Chander Park and its surroundings. He emphasized the importance of preserving the literary heritage of Poonch and expressed his vision of transforming the park as a centre of attraction to attract visitors and tourists from across the J&K UT.
