Police takes strict measures against overloading: 02 FIRs lodged, 14 vehicles seized | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Nov 17: In a proactive move aimed at ensuring road safety, the Kishtwar Police, under the guidance of SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS, launched a special drive to address the issue of overloading in passenger vehicles in the district. As part of this initiative, Kishtwar Police registered 02 FIRs against violators, leading to the arrest of 02 individuals responsible for overloading. Additionally, 14 vehicles found exceeding prescribed load limits were seized during the operation. To emphasize the seriousness of traffic violations, 227 vehicles were challaned for various offenses, with a particular focus on overloading. SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal-JKPS issued a stern warning to vehicle operators, emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach towards those compromising the safety of commuters. The crackdown on overloading is part of a broader effort to address the role of traffic violations in causing fatal road accidents. Expressing concern over underage driving, SSP Kishtwar urged parents to prevent their underage children from operating vehicles. The comprehensive drive against overloading aims to instill a sense of responsibility among road users and promote strict adherence to traffic rules. In an effort to involve the community in ensuring road safety, SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal-JKPS encouraged passengers to capture videos of overloaded vehicles and send them to the designated number: 9906154100.
