Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 17: Under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Division of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, SKUAST - Jammu, R.S. Pura, organized a one-day awareness and training program on hoof disorders of dairy cows. The program was conducted at the village Kotli Arjun Singh in the R.S Pura block and saw the participation of more than 50 dairy farmers. The initiative was carried out under the able guidance and leadership of Prof. B.N. Tripathi, the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu. The primary focus of the program was to educate farmers on routine management practices for hoof care, aimed at reducing the incidence of lameness in dairy cows and preventing economic losses associated with such disorders. The program also included on-site hoof trimming and treatment of hoof disorders, performed by experts from the Division of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-Jammu, R.S.Pura. Dr. H. R. Bhardwaj, Dr. D. K. Dwivedi, along with postgraduate and Ph.D. students Dr. Aditi Rana, Dr. Sachin Kumar, and Dr. Ridhima Sharma, played key roles in facilitating the program. The hands-on approach and practical demonstrations aimed to equip farmers with the necessary knowledge and skills to address and manage hoof disorders in dairy cows effectively." |
