Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 17: In a significant breakthrough, the Jammu Police successfully cracked a theft case and recovered 404.86 grams (40 tolas) of gold from a notorious thief involved in multiple car thefts. The achievement was announced by SSP Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar, who credited the police teams for their diligent efforts. The operation was conducted in the Raipur area, supervised by SP North Kulbir Handa, led by SDPO West Vikram Singh, and headed by SHO PS Janipur Inspector Sikander Singh. The police teams, working on information about thefts in the jurisdiction of PS Janipur, meticulously collected CCTV footage, tracked the suspect's movements, and identified his modus operandi. The suspect, identified as Shubam, son of Satish Kumar, residing in Gurah Qasim Nagar, Bakshi Nagar, was apprehended and interrogated. He confessed to his involvement in four different theft cases. The stolen gold, amounting to 404.86 grams, was recovered from various branches of Muthoot Finance Ltd. and Manappuram Finance Ltd., as well as Canara Bank in Jammu. The recovered items were linked to four separate cases registered at PS Janipur and PS Bakshi Nagar. The thief was arrested, and the investigation is ongoing. It's noteworthy that a significant portion of the recovered gold was seized in the mentioned cases, while the rest was confiscated under section 107 of the CrPC.
