Samba, Nov 19: Samba Police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Benam Tosh, has achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending the kingpin of a cattle-lifting gang. The operation resulted in the recovery of stolen cattle and the seizure of the vehicle used for these thefts. A case (FIR No. 12/2023) under sections 457/380 IPC has been registered at Police Station Purmandal, and investigations are currently underway. The arrested kingpin, identified as Hamid, son of Roshan Din, resident of Kheri Tehsil Bishnah in District Jammu, was taken into custody by a police team led by SHO Police Station Purmandal, Vijay Verma, under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. SSP Samba Benam Tosh commended the police team for their successful operation and urged the general public to ensure the safety of domestic animals. He emphasized the importance of keeping animals in safe and secure locations rather than abandoned or isolated spots to prevent cruelty at the hands of cattle lifters and bovine smugglers. The police’s prompt action in arresting the kingpin and recovering stolen cattle highlights their commitment to maintaining law and order, protecting livestock, and ensuring the safety of the community. |
