| DSRS, University of Jammu, welcomes students through induction programme | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 21: The Department of Strategic and Regional Studies (DSRS) at the University of Jammu conducted a comprehensive induction programme for the newly admitted students of the MA in Defence and Strategic Studies on November 21, 2023.
The program, aimed at orienting the second batch of postgraduate students, commenced with an insightful overview presented by Prof. Virender Koundal, the Director of DSRS. Prof. Koundal elucidated the history and objectives of the department, providing the students with a foundational understanding of the academic journey they are embarking upon.
Emphasizing the scope and opportunities inherent in the MA program, Prof. Koundal encouraged the students to actively participate in academic, cultural, and sports activities. His guidance extended to advising them to leverage the various opportunities offered by the University of Jammu to foster their career growth.
The induction programme also featured contributions from esteemed faculty members of DSRS, including Dr. Mohd. It's noteworthy that the MA program in Defence and Strategic Studies, initiated by DSRS during the 2022-23 academic session, saw its recent admission process conducted under the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) system. A total of 21 students have successfully secured admission to this esteemed program, highlighting the growing interest and recognition of the discipline.
