Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 21: In a proactive initiative towards fostering student well-being, Government Degree College, Kunjwani, hosted a comprehensive mental health workshop on November 20, 2023. The event, skillfully organized by a committed team led by Prof. Pooja and Dr. Neeru Sharma from the Department of English, alongside Dr. Bushra, NSS Coordinator, and Dr. Sajaad Khan, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students.
The workshop, facilitated by the esteemed Dr. Rashi Taggar from SMVD University, revolved around the theme 'College Bliss.' Dr. Taggar imparted valuable insights and tips aimed at helping students gracefully navigate stress, foster happiness, and achieve success in their academic journey.
Engaging in a series of activities meticulously designed to balance the right and left brain, establish a connection with the earth, and energize the five elements within the body, students actively participated in the pursuit of combating anxiety levels. The workshop adopted a holistic approach, focusing on both mental and physical well-being.
In addition to stress-relief activities, the workshop provided students with practical guidance on maintaining optimal levels of 'happy hormones' on a daily basis. Insights shared during the session are expected to contribute significantly to the long-term well-being of the students. The rejuvenating impact of the workshop was palpable as students left with a renewed sense of well-being. Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn practical strategies for managing stress and enhancing their overall happiness.
Credit for the success of the event goes to Dr. Neeru Sharma and the faculty members for their proficient coordination. The organizing team's dedication ensured a seamless and impactful experience for the students.
Principal Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo, a strong advocate for holistic development, consistently promotes such events. He believes in the importance of nurturing not only academic excellence but also the mental and emotional well-being of the students.
The mental health workshop at Government Degree College, Kunjwani, stands as a testament to the institution's commitment to providing a supportive and enriching environment for its students. The event marks a positive step towards creating a campus culture that values and prioritizes the mental health and overall well-being of the student community.
