| Bootlegger arrested, 33 bottles of illicit liquor seized | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Nov 21: In a determined effort under the operation SANJEEVNI, Kishtwar Police has made a significant stride in its ongoing campaign against anti-social elements by apprehending a bootlegger. Acting on specific information, a special checkpoint was established at Mughalmaidan area.
The operation was carried out by a dedicated police team led by Insp Sandeep Parihar and SI Mohd Shafi, under the vigilant supervision of Dy. SP DAR Sh. Sajjad Khan. The special checkpoint at Dadpath Mughalmaidan area resulted in the interception of a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AJ-7757. Upon searching a bag tied to the motorcycle, the police discovered and seized 33 bottles of illicit liquor.
The individual arrested in connection with this incident has been identified as Muzahir Hussain, son of Mohd Irfan Lone, residing in Makerphat Mulchiter Mughalmaidan.
In response to this unlawful activity, Kishtwar Police has registered case FIR No. 92/2023 under section 48 (a) of the Excise Act at Police Station Chatroo. An ongoing investigation is being conducted to delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the case.
