DPS Jammu Commemorates Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Jayanti with Special Assembly

Jammu, Nov 26: Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu, observed the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with a reverent assembly, highlighting the teachings and values of the first Guru of Sikhs. The assembly featured various performances, speeches, and recognitions.
The assembly commenced with a peaceful prayer led by Kamya Sanmotra (IX), setting a serene tone for the event. Akshat Salathia (IX) shared an insightful thought of the day, preparing the audience for the spiritual significance of the occasion. A mesmerizing “SHABAD KIRTAN” dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev Ji was presented by students, accompanied by instrumental performances, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
The students, adorned in traditional attire, added a cultural touch to the celebration. Bhavjyot Singh (IX) delivered an informative speech, shedding light on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and teachings, emphasizing universal values such as unity, love, humility, and equality.
In addition to the Gurpurab celebrations, the assembly included a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing students’ achievements in sports and extracurricular activities. The Principal, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, extended her congratulations to the winners and shared reflections on the essence of Gurupurab, emphasizing Guru Nanak Ji’s timeless teachings for building a harmonious society.
The event also witnessed the presence of other school dignitaries, including the Headmistress, Headmaster, Dy. Headmaster, Dy. Headmistress, Coordinators, and House Master of Jhelum House. The assembly concluded with the instrumental rendition of the National Anthem.
The Management of DPS Jammu, including Hon’ble President-RCT Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, distinguished PVC Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh Ji, and Hon’ble Director Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji, conveyed warm Gurupurab wishes to students, parents, staff, and their families. The assembly successfully captured the essence of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings and fostered a sense of unity and spirituality among the school community.
