Three-day fertilizer quality control training at held Kissan Kendra

JAMMU, Nov 30: In a significant step towards enhancing the expertise of field functionaries, Kissan Kendra, Jammu, successfully concluded a three-day orientation training course on Fertilizer Quality Control. The event, which concluded on November 30, 2023, was honored by the presence of Chief Guest, Director Agriculture Jammu, Ram Savak.
The training aimed at skill upgrading 50 field functionaries of the Enforcement Wing from both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. The initiative was carried out in accordance with the directives of Shailendra Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Government, Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department.
Dr. Ravindra Yadav, Deputy Director of the Central Fertilizer Quality Control & Training Institute, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, served as the main resource person. Dr. Yadav provided comprehensive insights into Fertilizer Quality Control, covering legal procedures outlined in the context of the Fertilizer (Control) Order 1985.
Expressing his appreciation for the participants' knowledge and responsiveness during the training, Dr. Ravindra Yadav extended gratitude to Director Agriculture Jammu for the opportunity and support during the course held in Jammu.
Director Agriculture Jammu, Ram Savak, conveyed his thanks to the resource person for delivering informative and quality training. He stressed the importance of conducting such training programs at the district level to enhance the capacity of field functionaries. Director Savak urged the trainees to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the training at the field level for the benefit of farmers.
An interactive session cum feedback session provided participants with the opportunity to express their satisfaction with the quality and relevance of the lectures delivered. At the conclusion of the program, certificates were issued to the trainees for their successful completion of the training course.
Rajeev Katoch, Programme Officer at the Directorate of Agriculture Jammu, efficiently conducted the proceedings of the program. Several senior officers, including R.K. Hitaishi, Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension) Jammu, and Alok Pandotra, Deputy Director Agriculture (Trgs.) Jammu, among others, were present on the concluding day of the training course, showcasing the commitment of the department to the capacity building of its personnel.
