JAMMU, Nov 30: To pay tributes to the legendary artist Dr. O.P Sharma-Sarthi, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organised “Sham-E- Ghazal” here in K.L. Saigal Hall. Dr. O.P Sharma Sarathi- a multidimensional personality was born on April 1 at Mattan, Kashmir. Master of all trades an embodiment of writer, poet, painter, cartoonist, Ayurvedacharya, photographer, music composer and above all human with all traits of love, brotherhood and sacrifice for the fellow beings. S. Pritpal Singh Betab, renowned writer of the Jammu and Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Anil Sehgal Presided over the program. At the very outset Sh. Bharat Singh, secretary JKAACL, welcomed the artists and guests. He said that these programs are aimed to give a platform to the young budding artists The program began with Dr O.P.Sharma Sarthi’s Ghazal sung by the young upcoming artist Aditya Langeh. This was followed by the singing of another Ghazal by Vanshika Jaral. Both the singers enthralled the audience with their melodious voices. The singers were equally supported by musicians like Rakesh Jasotra on flute, Sunil Sharma on Synth, Shivinder on guitar and Neeraj Verma on tabla. The Ghazals were composed by the famous writer, artists, musician of Jammu and Kashmir Prithvi Raj Sharma. The program was ably conducted by Ms. Bindiya Raina Tikku. Dr. Shahnawaz presented the vote of thanks. |
