REASI, Dec 2: In a proactive initiative, ARTO Reasi, Tara Mani, spearheaded a comprehensive enforcement drive through Katra town & Moori, adhering to the directives of District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan. The operation, aimed at upholding the Motor Vehicles Act and fostering safer road practices, inspected 165 vehicles, exposing multiple violations. The enforcement team took decisive action against 81 vehicles, issuing challans and collecting Rs. 67,500 in cash from compounded penalties. Underlining the commitment to traffic regulations and safety, drivers received education on safe practices, emphasizing seat belt usage, vehicle fitness, dangers of mobile phone use, speed limit adherence, and overall compliance with traffic laws. Simultaneously, ARTO Reasi issued a stern warning specifically to auto-rickshaw drivers, addressing the misuse of fare meters. This directive highlights the importance of regulatory compliance in the auto-rickshaw sector, aligning with the commitment to passenger rights and fair practices. Auto drivers were explicitly cautioned that failure to adhere to fare meter regulations could lead to immediate license suspension and vehicle seizure. This stringent warning forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure fair and transparent practices in the transportation sector, prioritizing passenger safety and satisfaction. |
