KISHTWAR, Dec 2: An awareness program under HADP Yuva Vani was held today at Government Degree College Paddar and Block H/Q Gulabgarh Paddar to attract college and local youth towards agri-preneurship. The program was conducted on the direction of Principal Secretary Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department, J&K UT, Shailendra Kumar, and guidance of Director Agriculture Jammu, Ram Savak, and District Nodal officer/Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Amjad Hussain Malik. Students and local youth evinced keen interest in employment opportunities in the agri-sector. The program aimed to encourage rural youth to embrace agriculture as a full-time/part-time profession for lucrative returns. The Participants were encouraged by experts to become job providers instead of job seekers by undertaking projects in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, and other allied activities by availing the handholding offered under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). The Participants were further informed about Kisan Sathi and Daksh Kisan initiatives. Success story videos of agri-entrepreneurs were shared with the youth. The entire program was coordinated by Block Nodal Officer, S. Jatinder Singh (SMS Paddar), in the presence of SDAO Paddar Sahil Gandotra, BDO Paddar Sanjeev Kotwal, Principal GDC Paddar Dr. Anwar Shah, Dr. Shiraz Akhtar, along with other college staff. In his lecture, Ampy Singh AEO enlightened the youth about the benefits of agriculture as a profession. HDO Paddar Neeraj Aryan, VAS Animal Husbandry Dr. Suneel Singh Katoch, AEO Atholi Barinder Singh, AEO Massu Manoj K Sharma, Sunil Kumar Sharma, officers/officials of other departments, besides a large number of students and youths, were present on the occasion. |
