Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Dec 2: Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, took a significant step towards fostering electoral literacy and participation by organizing a one-day awareness program under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation Programme (SVEEP). The event, conducted in collaboration with the NSS Unit and IQAC Cell, aimed to empower students with the knowledge required for effective participation in the electoral process. Under the guidance of the esteemed Principal, Prof. Hans Raj, the program commenced with a collective Voters' Pledge taken by students and staff. Prof. Hans Raj emphasized that the primary goal of the initiative was to enlighten students about electoral literacy and empower them to actively engage in the democratic process, ensuring that no voter is left behind. Dr. Akhter Hussain and Dr. Nishat Khan delivered insightful lectures on the topic, urging students to enroll in the electoral list and emphasizing the crucial role they play in strengthening democracy through active participation in elections. The event witnessed a significant turnout, with a large number of students actively participating in the awareness program. The organizational efforts were led by Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, Dr. Akhter Hussain, Dr. Zahoor Mir, Dr. Nishat Khan, and Dr. Mahima Bhagat, reflecting the collective commitment of the college towards promoting civic responsibility and electoral awareness among the student community. |
