Jammu, Dec 10: On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha, in collaboration with PANKH EK UDAAN NGO and STAND WITH HUMANITY FOUNDATION NGO, organized a Free Legal Aid and Human Rights Awareness Camp for the general public at Kabir Bhawan, Chak-Avtara, Bishnah. The legal awareness camp, conducted by Advocate Pooja Uppal and Manik Uppal, shed light on the rights of women and the legal remedies available to them. Emphasis was placed on issues such as domestic violence, crimes against women, matrimonial disputes, and the various laws and remedies designed for the protection of women. Special thanks were extended to the Pankh team and Manik Uppal (Chairperson) of Stand with Humanity Foundation, along with Akhil Kapoor (President) and Angad Singh (Director) for their efforts in organizing events to raise awareness among the general public. Ms. Navneet Kour, Founder of the NGO, and Priyanka Sharma, Vice President, were also present during the camp. In addition to the legal awareness session, a medical camp was organized by Sharp Sight Eye Hospital, offering free eye check-ups. Around 150 eye check-ups were conducted on the spot using modern equipment. Dr. Om Bhardwaj (Physician Chest Diseases) and Dr. Shalini Bhagat (Consultant Gynecologist) attended the camp and addressed various medical issues. Dr. Bhardwaj emphasized the importance of female hygiene and announced plans to organize such free camps on a monthly basis. The President of All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha, Sh. F.C Bhagat, expressed his commitment to organizing regular medical camps in the future. He assured that patients requiring further treatment would be supported by the Sabha, ensuring that any necessary operations would be carried out free of cost under the Ayushman Health Scheme of the Government of India. Other dignitaries who attended and spoke at the event included Sh. Garu Ram Bhagat (DDC), Sh. Bihari Lal (Retd. S.P), Sh. Sham Lal (Advocate), Sh. Abid Hussain (SHO Bishnah), Sh. Gurdass Bhagat, Sh. Chaman Lal, and all the office bearers. |
