Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 12: Eight days training on First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation was conducted at Indian Red Cross Society, J&K-UT w.e.f. 4th to 12th December, 2023 for the commercial vehicle drivers and others. The training was conducted by a team of Doctors from IRCS, JK dispensary led by Dr. Kavita Nijohn and Dr. Aasia Noor, Medical Officers assisted by Smt. Kanchan Devi, Sh. Ravi Kant Magotra, Supervisor Pharmacists and Smt. Naziya Bano, FMPHW. They imparted knowledge of commonly occurring situations in our day to day life. It was explained to the participants on the need to remain calm in adverse situations and how to give basic medical aid to anybody, if required. The training sessions focused on the basics of first aid, and how to provide first aid in wounds, bleeding, musculoskeletal injury, burns, heatstroke, poisoning, bites, drowning, fainting, seizures and unconsciousness. All participants had hands-on experience of dressing the wound, applying different types of bandages, splinting the injured body part, providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and transferring the victim. There was active participation by all the participants and they expressed that the training will be very useful for them to meet the emergencies in daily life.
