Jammu, Dec 12: The Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu has filed a comprehensive 134-page charge-sheet against Sudarshan Kumar and Rahul Kumar, residents of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, in connection with a medical college admission fraud case. The accused have been charged under sections 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code. The case, originating from a complaint filed by Hemant Kumar Bhat, a resident of Roop Nagar Jammu, alleges that the accused, along with representatives of Global Learning and Education Consultancy Bangalore, deceived and cheated him of Rs 5 lakhs. The fraudsters, promising admission in the MD course for Kumar’s daughter at Karnataka Medical College under the management quota, lured him into paying an immediate sum of Rs 5 lakhs, with the assurance that the remaining balance of Rs 30 lakhs would be paid after securing the admission. The Preliminary Verification conducted in response to Kumar’s complaint substantiated the allegations, prompting the registration of a formal case under relevant sections of the law. The subsequent investigation gathered oral, documentary, and circumstantial evidence, fully establishing offenses under sections 420 and 120 of the RPC against Sudarshan Kumar and Rahul Kumar. The charge-sheet, comprising details of the criminal conspiracy and cheating involved in the case, was presented before the Court for judicial determination. The accused are identified as Rahul Kumar, son of Sanjeev Kumar, and Sudarshan Kumar, son of Satish Kumar, associated with Global Learning Education Consultancy located at 26, 27, 6th Main Mico Layout BTM 2nd stage Bangalore.
