1947 POJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum applauds SC Judgment on Article 370

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 12: In a significant development, the All J&K 1947 POJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum recently conducted a meeting led by President Adv. Amrik Singh and Secretary S. Surjit Singh to discuss and applaud the landmark judgment delivered by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. The judgment, emanating from a five-judge constitutional bench, has put to rest any lingering doubts regarding the accession of J&K with India.
The forum expressed its gratitude for the historic decision and extended a warm welcome to the resolution of confusion surrounding the contentious issues related to Article 370 and 35A. The members commended the dedicated efforts of the BJP government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for the bold move of abrogating Article 370 and 35A, a chronic issue persisting for 75 years since India gained independence.
The forum underscored the significance of the judgment in dispelling doubts propagated by anti-national elements about the accession of J&K with India. They highlighted that the Supreme Court's endorsement has effectively closed the chapter on the contentious matter.
Emphasizing their demands, the forum called for the nomination of 10 seats in the J&K legislative assembly out of the total 24, referring to recommendations made in the 183-joint parliamentary committee report and the Wadhwa Commission. The members argued that the population of POJK displaced persons exceeds fifteen lakhs, far surpassing the one and a half lakh Kashmiri migrants who have been allocated two seats, pointing out what they consider to be an injustice.
Furthermore, the forum sought answers from the Modi government regarding the pending package of 24.50 lakhs, expressing concern over its delayed implementation. They noted that this is the third generation of POJK displaced persons still awaiting resolution.
Highlighting their grievances, the forum raised issues about the registration of left-out properties in POJK, both movable and immovable, and the release of pending claims. Additionally, they demanded a separate recruitment package for POJK youth, akin to the benefits provided to other Kashmiri migrants.
The meeting, attended by prominent members such as Vice President S. Kuldeep Singh, Ex-Corporator S. Paramjit Singh, and others, concluded with a strong call to address the concerns and demands of the POJK displaced persons, emphasizing the need for equitable representation and justice.
