Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 12: Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, today reviewed the status of Addiction Treatment Facilities in Government Hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir. Pertinently, 16 ATFs have been sanctioned for J&K being supported by Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan and coordinated and implemented by National Drug Dependence Treatment Centers, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). These addiction treatment facilities are catering to treatment and rehabilitation of substance users. Secretary appreciated the functioning of ATFs and impressed upon the stake holders to work with more zeal and dedication for mitigating the sufferings of victims of drug addictions. He directed the officers for initiating process of establishment of ATFs in the remaining four districts of Samba, Udhampur, Reasi and Ramban. He instructed the Principals and Chief Medical Officers to complete the process of hiring of manpower within a month's time for addressing gaps of manpower. While reviewing the functioning of New GMCs, he asked all the concerned to report the work done to the administrative department on weekly basis including major and minor surgeries. Among others the meeting was also attended by Mission Director, NHM, J&K, Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar, Jammu, Handwara, Kathua, Doda and Rajour besides Director Health Services Jammu and Kashmir. |
