01. 5.3 grams of heroin recovered by Bishnah Police Station

Jammu, Dec 12: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 5.3 grams of heroin from an accused person in the jurisdiction of PS Bishnah.
A police team of PS Bishnah led by SHO PS Bishnah while on naka duty near Kotli Charkan Bishnah rounded up a suspect who was coming from Miran Sahib towards Bishnah. On search, 5.3 grams of heroin was recovered from him.
In this regard a case FIR No. 259/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act got registered in PS Bishnah and accused was arrested. The accused arrested was later identified as Roshan Lal S/O Kewal Krishan R/O Village Kotli Charkan, Tehsil Bishnah, Distt Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention that accused was a notorious drug peddler and was also involved in criminal offences like assault by using sharp edged weapon. Details of various cases registered against him in the PS Bishnah are as follows:-
1. Case FIR No. 192/2019 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act
2. Case FIR No. 01/2021 u/s 341/323/34/ IPC 4/25 A Act.
3. Case FIR No. 117/2022 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act 4/25 A.Act.
4. Case FIR No. 259/2023 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
