DC Reasi flags off 5-Day residential trekking expedition to Patnitop

REASI, Dec 12: District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan, today flagged off a 5-day residential trekking expedition of boys and girls to Patnitop. The voyage has been organized by the District Youth Services and Sports Department. The camp is scheduled to commence from the 12th of December, 2023, and will culminate on 16th of December, 2023, at the picturesque Patnitop.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said such camps aim to encourage outdoor activities and foster a spirit of adventure among the youth. The trekking camp is designed to provide an immersive experience in the lap of nature, allowing participants to explore the breathtaking landscapes and enrich their understanding regarding ecology and environmental conservation.
Participants will engage in various activities, including guided treks, team-building exercises, and interactive sessions focusing on environmental awareness and sustainable practices. The camp intends to instill values of resilience, leadership, and camaraderie among the students, empowering them to become responsible global citizens.
DDC expressed his enthusiasm for this initiative, emphasizing the importance of such experiences in shaping the holistic development of the youth.
He highlighted the significance of outdoor activities in nurturing a deeper connection with nature while simultaneously honing essential life skills.
The DDC extended gratitude to all the supporting partners and stakeholders whose contributions have made this residential trekking camp possible.
ACR Anshumali Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer Harbans Singh, District Youth services and Sports Officer Tersem Singh and teachers were also present on the occasion.
