Early Times Report KATHUA, Dec 21: In a resolute move to combat drug dealings and dismantle the operations of drug peddlers in the district, Kathua Police seized approximately 10.39 grams of Heroin (Chitta)-like narcotics in the jurisdictional area of P/S Rajbagh. Two drug peddlers were apprehended, and a motorcycle involved in the commission of the crime was seized on the spot. On 19-12-2023, a police team led by SHO P/S Rajbagh, under the supervision of SDPO Border, conducted a naka/checking operation resulting in the apprehension of two individuals: 1. Rohit Kumar, son of Dharampaul, resident of Ward No. 10, Kathua, and 2. Jaswinder Singh, son of Veer Singh, resident of Ward No. Nurpur, District Kangra HP. The individuals were engaged in the illegal trade of selling narcotics contraband in the Haria Chak area and were found moving under suspicious circumstances on a motorcycle with registration number JK08F-9938. During the frisking process, approximately 10.39 grams of Heroin (Chitta) narcotics were discovered in their possession. The seized narcotics, along with the implicated vehicle, were confiscated, and the two drug peddlers were arrested on the spot. A case under FIR No. 325/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29/NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh, and further investigations are in progress. The consistent efforts of the District Police against drug peddlers aim to reassure the community that untiring measures are being taken to rid society of the menace of drug trafficking.
