Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 21: Espousing the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards ensuring menstrual hygiene and affordable access to sanitary napkins, Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, J&K-UT is continuously making efforts to distribute Sanitary Napkins to promote women's health and break the stigma surrounding menstruation. Indian Red Cross Society, J&K-UT today on 21st December, 2023 distributed sanitary napkins and delivered a comprehensive lecture on menstrual hygiene to the girl students of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Rehari Jammu. Each girl was provided with a supply of sanitary napkins, emphasizing proper usage and disposal. The initiative aims to ensure that girls have access to essential hygiene products, contributing to their overall well-being. Besides that, a lecture on menstrual hygiene was also delivered by the Medical Officer, Red Cross Dispensary, Dr. Kavita Nijhon assisted by Vironica Marwah, Field Officer, IRCS, J&K which covered the importance of maintaining good menstrual hygiene for overall health, dispelling myths and addressing misconceptions surrounding menstruation. Practical information on the proper use and disposal of hygiene products was also shared. The programme featured an interactive session encouraging girls to actively participate. |
