RS PURA, Dec 30: Police have solved two extortion cases reported in Bishnah and R S Pura areas within 72 hours by arresting three accused involved in the crime. According to the details available with Early Times three days ago two unknown persons were involved in a snatching episode in broad daylight, from a street hawker (Pheriwala) in Bishnah town, by posing themselves as In-charge Chowki Officer of J&K Police, and extorted money from him. The duo had come in a Maruti Alto car. An official said that again on Friday the same kind of information was received from Dablehar R.S Pura, where an egg seller reported that some unknown persons extorted Rs 2000 from him, along with his mobile phone, by posing themselves as In-charge Chowki Officer of J&K Police, while driving an Alto car. In both these incidents two FIRs were lodged and teams of both the police stations i.e. PS Bishnah and PS RS Pura, were constituted, and after hectic efforts, which included several raids, technical and human intervention the teams led by Nikhil Gogna, JKPS, SDPO RS Rura, assisted by Inspector Abid Bukhari SHO Bishnah, and Inspector Naveen Angral, SHO PS RS Pura, was finally able to nab the culprits, in which PSI Tariq Aziz played a key role, by arresting the trio. The accused were identified as: Akhil Chopra son of Prem Chopra, resident of ward no 10 RS Pura, Roshan son of Bachan lal of Sidhrey, of R.S Pura and Nitin Kumar son of Naresh Kumar resident of ward no.9, R.S Pura. |
