Police foils bovine smuggling attempt in Jyotipuram; two FIRs registered, vehicles seized | | | Early Times Report REASI, Jan 3: In a significant crackdown on bovine smuggling, Reasi Police successfully intercepted two vehicles transporting bovine animals illegally at Jyotipuram. The operation was carried out during routine naka checking, revealing a violation of regulations governing the transportation of bovine animals. The intercepted vehicles, bearing registration numbers JK02BP-3875 and JK20B-6569, were driven by individuals identified as Mohd Aslam and Mohd Javed, respectively. Accompanying them were Abrar Hussain and Abrar Hussain, involved in the illicit transportation of two bovine animals each. The animals were being transported without the necessary permission from the District Magistrate. Taking swift action, Reasi Police registered two First Information Reports (FIRs) in connection with the incident. Case FIR No. 02/2024 under sections 188/IPC 11PC Act and Case FIR No. 03/2024 under the same sections were filed at Police Station Reasi. The FIRs mark the initiation of a thorough investigation into the smuggling attempt. Both vehicles involved in the illegal transportation were seized as part of the police operation. The investigation is underway, with a focus on dismantling any network involved in bovine smuggling. Reasi Police, under the dedicated supervision of SSP Reasi, has reiterated its zero-tolerance stance towards such activities, demonstrating a commitment to eradicating the menace of bovine smuggling from the district.
