SAMBA, Jan 6: In a significant breakthrough, Samba Police has successfully apprehended the elusive Zakir Hussain alias Jagga, the hardcore accused evading arrest since 2022 in the Zakir murder case of Bari Brahmana. The arrest marks a crucial development in the investigation into the heinous crime that shocked the region.
Zakir Hussain, son of Hashim Din and resident of Laswara Deoli, Tehsil Bishnah, district Jammu, was wanted in connection with FIR No. 187/2022, which included charges under sections 302, 307, 364, 323, 427, 147, 148, 201 IPC, and 4/25 Arms Act of PS Bari Brahmana. The police, led by persistent efforts, conducted a series of raids to track down the accused, who had been evading arrest since the brutal incident occurred.
The murder, which took place on the night of October 3, 2022, at 10:40 PM, involved an attack on Zakir Hussain while he was returning home after attending a marriage function at Balole Khad Bari Brahmana. A group of criminals, most of whom hailed from different areas of district Jammu, targeted him, leading to his tragic demise. His companion also sustained serious injuries during the assault.
Expressing satisfaction over the successful arrest, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, stated that this achievement is part of the broader efforts by the police force. Tosh highlighted that a total of 168 hardcore criminals, implicated in various cases including murders and attempts to murder, have been apprehended by Samba Police in the past eleven and a half months. The law enforcement authorities are committed to ensuring stringent legal action against those involved in heinous crimes.
The arrest of Zakir Hussain brings a sense of closure to the Zakir murder case, providing justice for the victim and his family.
