Early Times Report
Samba, Jan 7: In a decisive move, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Benam Tosh, has taken stern action against two personnel for prolonged absence from their legitimate duties. The action includes the removal from service of one under suspension selection grade Constable, involved in a firing and assault case in Hatli Kathua, and the disengagement of one habitual absentee Special Police Officer (SPO), based on the recommendation of the enquiry officer. The personnel in question had continuously ignored signals, attendance notices, and show cause notices urging them to resume their duties. Despite various attempts, they showed no interest in returning to work, leading to the stringent departmental action. The decision to remove and disengage them was also based on the findings of enquiries conducted under the rules, recommending their termination. Constable Joginder Singh, under suspension and in the selection grade, has been removed from service as per Article 128 of J&K Civil Service Regulations. He had been absenting himself without authorization for the last ten consecutive months and remained absent during his involvement in a case (FIR No.340/2023) under various sections of the IPC and Arms Act at PS Kathua. On the other hand, SPO Bachan Lal, a habitual absentee, has been disengaged on the recommendation of the enquiry officer. He had been absent for six months during the year 2023 and continues to remain absent from duty. The strict departmental actions underline the commitment of SSP Samba to maintaining discipline and ensuring the accountability of personnel within the police force. |
