Jhajjar Kotli police thwart bovine smuggling bid, rescue 31 animals | | | Early Times Report JHAJJAR KOTLI, Jan 17: In a proactive operation, the Jhajjar Kotli Police intercepted and foiled a bovine smuggling attempt during the early hours, rescuing 31 distressed bovines. The vigilant police team also seized a vehicle, a truck with registration number JK19A-9585, used for the illicit transportation of animals. The interception took place at Suketar Naka point, where the animals were discovered loaded onto the vehicle in a cruel and inhumane manner. Shockingly, the bovines were found without proper provisions such as fodder and water. Moreover, it was revealed that the perpetrators had not obtained permission from the District Magistrate for such activities. Despite the darkness working to the advantage of the smuggler, who managed to escape the scene, the Jhajjar Kotli Police swiftly responded by registering a case at the local police station. The case invokes relevant sections of the law to address the illegal bovine smuggling and the mistreatment of the animals. The authorities are now actively pursuing the investigation to bring the culprits to justice and ensure the well-being of the rescued animals. This successful intervention by the Jhajjar Kotli Police underscores their commitment to combating illegal activities and safeguarding the welfare of animals in the region. |
