UDHAMPUR, Jan 17: The Jammu Kashmir Teachers' Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) organized a one-day convention on the "Role Of Teachers To Shape Society Rich In Moral Values" at Udhampur. The convention was graced by Chief Guest Director School Education Jammu, Ashok Kumar Sharma JKAS, and Guest of Honour Director Finance Revenue, Ashok Thukaan.
Led by UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar, the convention brought together hundreds of teachers from District Udhampur, along with UT executives, Provincial executives, and District Presidents.
In his address, Vinod Sharma emphasized the crucial role teachers play in instilling moral values in society. He highlighted the direct connection teachers have with the community, underlining their potential to contribute significantly to enriching moral values. A memorandum consisting of genuine issues was submitted to the Chief Guest, including concerns about the conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/ III, regularization of ReTs, release of arrears for teachers, and the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme for NPS employees.
UT Chairman Saleem Sagar demanded the issuance of mutual transfer lists and DPC lists for teachers to masters. General Secretary Najam Jafri raised the issue of earned leave for teachers engaged in summer/winter camps and other duties during vacation. Provincial President Rajesh Jamwal advocated for training teachers at District/Tehsil headquarters and the clearance of pending Mid Day Meals dues.
Director School Education Jammu commended the teachers for their role in the all-round development of students and assured to address the raised issues. Other speakers included Reyaz-ur Rehman, UT Sr Vice Chairman, Aaftab Malik, UT Vice Chairman, and various district presidents.
The convention served as a platform to discuss pressing concerns within the education sector and the constructive role teachers play in shaping the moral fabric of society. The JKTJAC leadership's commitment to addressing these issues was evident, setting the stage for positive developments in the education system.
