JAMMU, JAN 27: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) and prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Vikram Randhawa, marked the 75th Republic Day by unfurling the National Flag at various locations across Jammu. In his address to the public, Randhawa extended heartfelt greetings on the occasion of the Republic Day, emphasizing the historic significance of the 75th year of the Republic. Speaking to the gathering, Randhawa expressed pride in India's journey despite adversities and celebrated the diverse culture and greatness of the nation. Drawing parallels with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, which commemorated 75 years of Independence, he highlighted the festive occasion and the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by those who fought for India's independence. Randhawa urged the public to never forget the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and martyrs, emphasizing that even after Independence, Indian jawans continue to make supreme sacrifices for the freedom and safety of the nation. He called upon the people to instill the spirit of patriotism and nationalism in the younger generation by recounting the stories of these heroes. Highlighting India's rich democratic history, Randhawa asserted that the democratic system in India predates the concept of Western democracy, earning India the title of the "mother of democracy." He noted that the Constitution's Preamble begins with "We, the People of India," emphasizing the theme of democracy. Recalling the framing of the Constitution, Randhawa praised the leaders and officials who contributed to its creation. He remarked that India, after gaining independence on August 15, faced the task of formulating the principles and processes to govern the country, leading to the creation of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly. Former MLC Vikram Randhawa unfurled the National Flag at various locations, including Greater Jammu, Trikuta Nagar, Channi Himmat, Narwal Bala, Gorkha Nagar, Upper Chowadhi, Lower Chowadhi, Kunjwani, Digiana Pully, Roop Nagar, Jeevan Nagar, Last Morh, Transport Nagar, and Jammu Railway Station. Numerous dignitaries, including Monu Slathia, Ajmer Singh, Tarun Sharma, Amit Gupta, Subash Chander, Th. Balwant Singh, and many others, joined the Republic Day celebrations at these locations. The event aimed to commemorate India's democratic heritage, paying tribute to the sacrifices made for freedom and instilling a sense of patriotism among the citizens. |
