Ministry of Home Affairs Launches Cybercrime Investigation Course at SKPA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 6: The Ministry of Home Affairs has established the National Cybercrime Coordination Centre I4C to bolster the framework for preventing, detecting, investigating, and prosecuting cybercrimes comprehensively. In line with this initiative, a five-day course titled “Investigation of Cyber Crime” sponsored by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) commenced at SKPA. Twenty-three officers ranging from Inspectors to Deputy Superintendents of Police representing various State Police and Jammu & Kashmir Police are actively participating in this training program. The primary objective of the course is to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in cybercrime investigation and cyber fraud cases. Over the duration of the program, participants will delve into the implications of cybercrime, legal measures to combat it, and gain expertise in Cyber Forensics and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for cybercrime investigation. Sh. Garib Dass, IPS, ADGP, Director of Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, presided as the chief guest at the inaugural function. During his welcome address, Shri Garib Dass highlighted the increasing prevalence of cybercrimes and stressed the importance of equipping law enforcement officials with the necessary skills to combat them effectively. Eminent guest speakers from SMVDU Katra and professionals from the Cyber Police Station Jammu, along with Shri Nayeem Abass Hamdani, a Cyber Consultant, will deliver lectures during the course. Practical hands-on sessions have also been arranged to provide participants with real-world experience in cybercrime investigation techniques. The inaugural session was attended by Shri Rakesh Sambyal, CPO, Shri Ashish Gupta, Dy. SP, Assistant Director (R&D), Shri Sukhvir Singh, Dy.SP, Assistant Director (Administration), and faculty of SKPA. The coordination of the course is being overseen by Inspr. Rohit Gupta, assisted by HC Sanjay. This initiative underscores the commitment of the Ministry of Home Affairs to combat cybercrimes effectively through skill enhancement and knowledge dissemination among law enforcement officials. |
