Jammu, Feb 16: Five months after serving show cause notices to eight rebel leaders of the party, BJP on Friday expelled two party leaders of Kashmir Valley for indulging in anti-party activities. According to a handout issued by the party, on the recommendation of the chairman of the disciplinary committee BJP-JK UT, Manzoor Bhat, and Asif Masoodi have been expelled from the primary membership of the party. Sources in the party said that both the expelled leaders were disobeying the directions of the party leadership and were involved in organizing parallel functions. Earlier in September 2023, the BJP’s Disciplinary Committee issued notices to eight party rebels in Kashmir. The notices were issued from party headquarters to GM Mir, Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir, Altaf Thakur, Asif Masoodi, Arif Raja, Anwar Khan, Manzoor Bhat and Bilal Parray. “While holding an inquiry of indiscipline against Sh. Sofi Yusuf Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party, it came to notice to the Disciplinary Committee that there are serious allegations and proof of indiscipline against each of you for indulging in activities prejudicial to the maintenance of discipline in the party. By your activities a sense of mistrust have been created in party leadership”, the show cause notice reads. Earlier similar show cause notice was served to the veteran leader of the party and ex-MLA Sofi Yosuf. |
