Reasi, Feb 18: In a continued effort to crack down on bovine smugglers, Reasi police intercepted a truck at Moori Naka, successfully foiling an attempt to smuggle 13 bovine animals. The truck, bearing Registration No. JK19A3484, attempted to evade the police barricade but was apprehended during the checking. The individuals involved in the smuggling attempt, identified as Tahir Hussain, son of Aahdullah, and Mohd Altaf, son of Ghulam Mohd, both residents of Partumla Gool, Ramban, were arrested at the scene. Subsequently, Case FIR No. 47/2024 has been registered at P/S Katra under relevant sections of the law. The seized vehicle has been impounded, and investigations have commenced to uncover the entire network of perpetrators involved in the illegal activity. SSP Reasi, Ms. Mohita Sharma-IPS, emphasized that the Reasi Police is implementing a multifaceted approach to combat bovine smuggling and is determined to eradicate this social menace. The police force remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the region by addressing such criminal activities with utmost diligence. |
