Jammu, Feb 18: In a late-night operation on the 17th of February, 2024, the Police Party stationed at PP Sidhra, located at Naka Point Bajalta Naka Sidhra, intercepted a Tata mobile bearing registration number JK14J-6452. Upon inspection of the vehicle, authorities discovered the presence of four bovine animals, loaded in a manner indicative of merciless treatment. The driver of the vehicle, whose identity remains unknown, took advantage of the cover of darkness and managed to flee the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. Prompt action by the police ensured the rescue of all the bovine animals, while the vehicle was seized for further investigation. In response to this incident, Case FIR No.60/2024 has been registered under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act, and Sections 50/52/54/56 of the Transport of Animal Rules. |
