Police observe Thana Diwas in Marheen Lakhanpur

KATHUA, Mar 1: As a part of a public outreach programme "THANA DIWAS" an initiative of Government of J&K was organised at Chann Lal Din area of PP Marheen as well as P/S Lakhanpur area.
The Thana Diwas Programme at Chann Lal Din was chaired by SDPO Border who was accompanied by SHO PS Rajbagh, IC PP Marheen along with other police Officers/officials of the department were also graced the ocassion.The meeting was attended by the civil societies members, Sarpanch, Panch,Numberdars, Chowkidars and respectables of concerned areas of Sub Division Border area.
Whereas, Thana Diwas Programme at Lakhanpur area was chaired by Police team of PS Lakhanpur under the guidance of DySP DAR Kathua and SHO PS Lakhanpur alongwith other police officers as well as civil societies of the respective area also graced the ocassion.
The objective of the "Thana Diwas" was to discuss/acquaint with the problems of the general Public of the concerning areas and to develop a sense among the general public that Kathua Police is very much concerned to readdress the genuine issues of the public.
During the meetings chairing officers assured the participants about the commitment of District Police Kathua to its fight against the social crime and to provide safe and secure environment to the law abiding people. Speaking on the occasion, chairing officers added that propagators of drug menace will not be spared at all & shall be dealt firmly under rule. The chairing officers further appealed the participants to cooperate and assist the Police to weed out the menace of drug abuse from society.
At last chairing Police officers thanked the participants for sparing their valuable time to attend the meetings.The participants appreciated the initiative of the government to organise the 'Thana Diwas' by J&K Police which will help in prompt redressal of their issues.
