Seeking to consolidate his multiple cards into one, Singh initially contacted the toll-free number printed on the back of his Credit Card, unwittingly falling victim to fraud in the process. Following his initial inquiry, Singh received a call approximately two hours later from a toll-free number, 1860-180-1290, posing as an representative of the bank. In a distressing turn of events, Singh unwittingly disclosed sensitive information and provided OTPs sent to his registered number to the fraudulent caller, resulting in the wrongful deduction of a substantial sum of Rs. 98,237 from his account. Disturbingly, investigations have revealed that the toll-free number purportedly belonging to the bank Credit Card services operates unilaterally, disallowing incoming calls. This apparent contradiction raises significant questions about the legitimacy of the call received by Singh. |
