GDC joins hands with NYK Sangthan to celebrate International Women's Day

JAMMU, Mar 9: In a vibrant celebration of International Women's Day, Govt. Degree College Darhal collaborated with NYK Sangthan Rajouri to organize a series of events, culminating in the energetic Nari Shakti Run held on the college grounds. Led by the NSS wing under Dr. Mohd Akhlaq and the IQAC helmed by Dr. M Saleem Wani, the event saw active participation from female students and faculty members, showcasing their dedication to the cause of women empowerment.
The presence and enthusiastic involvement of Rabia Kouser, NYV - Nehru Yuva Volunteer Darhal, added to the spirit of the occasion, symbolizing unity and collaboration in the pursuit of gender equality. Prof. Zamir Mirza, Principal of GDC Darhal, chaired the event, emphasizing the importance of recognizing women's achievements and fostering an environment of equality and empowerment.
"The Nari Shakti Run exemplifies our commitment to empowering women and breaking barriers," remarked Prof. Zamir Mirza, highlighting the significance of the event in promoting gender equality. The run witnessed a remarkable turnout from both students and faculty, who ran with passion and vigor to support the cause.
The celebration continued with various cultural activities and sessions aimed at raising awareness about the importance of women's contributions in society. Dr. M Saleem Wani emphasized the pivotal role of education and empowerment in unleashing the potential of women, envisioning a brighter future for all.
Dr. Mohd Akhlaq lauded the participants for their enthusiasm and underscored the significance of commemorating International Women's Day. "Events like these provide a platform for women to showcase their talents and inspire others," he remarked, acknowledging the collective effort behind the event's success.
The event's success owes much to the dedication and contributions of faculty members such as Dr. Taseem, Head of Geography, Dr. Anzar Ahmed, Head of Arabic, and the support staff including Riaz Ahmed and Mukhtar Ahmed. Their commitment played a pivotal role in making the celebration a memorable and impactful one, reaffirming the college's commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment.
