Operation Jeevandan: 3 notorious drug peddlers arrested, 5.65 gm heroin recovered

Reasi, Mar 21: In continued drive against Drug Abuse launched by District Police Reasi under Operation JEEVANDAN, surprise Naka & Checking is being conducted to check the offenders & Criminals.
Police team of Police Station Reasi under the Supervision of SDPO Neeraj Badyal laid a surprise naka at IRP Chowk area, while conducting surprise checking, apprehended one person namely Parkash Singh, Age: 28 years S/O Mohan Singh R/O Thiloo, Dist: Reasi A/P Gran Morh Reasi and 01.05 gm of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession.
On this FIR No.54/2024 US 8/21/22 NDPS Act is registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation is going on to unearth the backward and forward linkage.
In another incident, Police Party of PP Talwara has intercepted a alto car bearing Registration number JK02Q 8566 during checking/frisking 2.50 grams of heroin recovered from driver namely Abhijeet Singh S/O Jalam Singh R/O Nai Basti, Reasi and 2.1 gm of heroin recovered from co-driver namely Sanjay Kumar S/O Chet Singh R/O Seela, Tehsil and District-Reasi.
On this FIR No.56/2024 US 8/21/22 NDPS Act is registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation is going on to unearth the backward and forward linkage. The whole operation was conducted by team of PS Reasi and PP Talwara led by SHO Reasi Insp Chaman Gorka.
SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma -IPS while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, on one hand awareness programs are being organized in every nook and corner of the district and on the other hand drug peddlers are being booked under PITNDPS Act on regular basis, whereas Reasi Police also started Anti Drug Helpline Number 9070907017 for general public where identity of caller will be kept secret.
SSP Reasi while giving tough message for drug peddlers added that there is no space for Drug Peddlers in Reasi. Drug peddlers should shun the path of spoiling our generation and must return to mainstream otherwise they will be dealt with Iron hand.
