Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 23: In a heartwarming gesture of compassion and inclusivity, the Cultural Club and National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of K.C. College of Education came together to celebrate the spirit of Holi with the residents of the Old Age Home in Amphalla, Jammu.
Holi, renowned as the festival of colors and spring, holds profound significance in Hindu culture, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. This year, students and faculty members of K.C. College of Education embarked on a mission to spread joy and alleviate the loneliness of the elderly residents.
During their visit to the Old Age Home, the students presented a variety of cultural performances including songs, dances, and bhajans, engaging the senior citizens in an atmosphere of joy and festivity. The vibrant hues of gulal adorned the faces of the residents, as the students sought their blessings and shared moments of laughter and camaraderie.
Adding to the festivities, a rangoli competition infused the air with creativity and artistic flair. Students showcased their talents through intricate designs, with the senior citizens serving as judges for the competition. Team 12 (Roshi & Srishti), Team 1 (Gouri and Vaishali), and Team 11 (Sanjana & Shivani) emerged victorious, capturing the essence of the occasion through their colorful expressions.
In a gesture of goodwill and solidarity, the staff and students of K.C. College of Education also presented essential items such as toiletries and eatables to the residents, acknowledging their daily needs and expressing gratitude for their presence in the community.
The celebration at the Old Age Home not only brought moments of joy and companionship but also exemplified the spirit of empathy and inclusivity fostered by K.C. College of Education, enriching the lives of all involved and spreading the message of love and compassion on the auspicious occasion of Holi.
