Jammu, Mar 23: To commemorate the traditional Holi Mahostav 2024 of Duggar Pardesh, the Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and the National College of Computer Education, organized a colorful Holi Milan at the open-air theatre, Durga Bhawan Janipur, Jammu today. The event marked a part of the 410th Regular Series Musical Play titled “Rang Dari Deo,” written, produced, and directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra, former Regional Director of the Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, with music composed by Sh. Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor. The inauguration of the program was graced by Padam Shri S.P. Varma, Social Worker and Peace Activist, Vice President of Gandhi Global Family, Jammu and Kashmir, along with Sh. Yash Pal Sharma, Ex-Counselor of JMC, ward no 35, Jammu, as the Guest of Honor. The dignitaries lit the Traditional Lamp and knotted the Ribbon to the “Holi Nishan Flag” alongside Sh. V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director of the Directorate Field Publicity, Government of India, and other esteemed guests. Sh. Kuldeep Magotra, Chief Executive Officer of the Volleyball Association of J&K, presided over the function, while Farooq Choudhary, a prominent social leader in J&K, and Mukesh Singh, a media person from Jammu, were the Guests of Honor. The program commenced with soulful renditions of traditional Holi songs by renowned artists of the institute, accompanied by vibrant Holi dances such as “Khari Holi,” “Ras-Rasia,” and Women Holi Dances depicting the divine love of Radha and Krishna. Addressing the audience, the Chief Guest highlighted the significance of the Holi festival, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and fostering unity and forgiveness among communities. He commended the efforts of BLSKS in organizing such events to promote cultural awareness and combat social evils through the medium of music and theatre. The event also commemorated the sacrifices of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, whose contributions remain etched in history. K.K. Joshi, Vice Chairman of BLSKS, emphasized the importance of promoting sports and cultural activities to preserve India’s rich cultural heritage and inspire future generations. Artists from BLSKS presented captivating performances, captivating the audience with their talent and enthusiasm. Deepak Kumar Dogra, the Program Coordinator, expressed gratitude to all participants and urged the community to join hands in awakening society against social evils. The celebration of Holi Mahostav 2024 was a resounding success, fostering joy, camaraderie, and cultural enrichment amongst attendees, echoing the spirit of unity and harmony that epitomizes the festival of colors. |
