Infiltration bid foiled in Uri, 2 intruders killed | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 5: Security Forces on Friday morning thwarted an infiltration attempt by terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Uri sector. Two intruders were killed and a cache of arms and ammunition was seized during the encounter, officials said. They said that the terrorists attempted to infiltrate into the Indian side of the border, which led to an exchange of fire with the JAK RIF forces. The forces effectively retaliated, resulting in the elimination of two infiltrators. Following the encounter, a thorough search operation was conducted in the area, which led to the recovery of warlike stores. Among the seized items were 2 AK series rifles, 4 grenades, and other ammunition. Providing details of the operation, the Chinar Corps tweeted, "Alert troops on LoC foiled an infiltration bid at Sabura Nala, Uri sector where 2 terrorists have been eliminated. 2 AK Rifles, 04 hand grenades and other war-like stores have been recovered.” |
