JAMMU, Apr 12: Amidst a wave of zeal and fervor, Shiksha Niketan Sr. Secondary School in Jeevan Nagar, Jammu, reverberated with joyous festivities as it celebrated the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi on the 12th of April, 2024. The school embraced the spirit of the festival with gusto, hosting a Special Assembly that brimmed with cultural splendor and exuberance.
The school campus was bedecked in vibrant decorations, setting the stage for a day filled with festivities and merriment. Students immersed themselves in the essence of the day, partaking in various enjoyable activities that exuded the essence of Baisakhi.
A feast for the senses unfolded as the school organized a captivating cultural function, elevating the atmosphere of joy and celebration. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Rameshwar Mengi, the Worthy Principal, along with Respected Risheek Mengi, Director of Pushp Vatika, Incharges of different Wings, and S. Jaswant Singh, the chief guest of the day.
The festivities commenced with the soulful recital of poems elucidating the significance of Baisakhi, followed by mesmerizing group dance performances and speeches that underscored the vitality and spirit of the culture, as well as the profound significance of the day.
Draped in colorful Punjabi traditional attire, the students captivated the audience with their enchanting dance performance, stealing hearts and leaving a lasting impression as the highlight of the program.
In his address, the esteemed Principal, Rameshwar Mengi, emphasized that Baisakhi transcends being merely a harvest festival; it holds profound significance as the day when Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of Sikhs, established the Khalsa Panth. He further elaborated on the vibrant and peppy nature of the festival, symbolizing the season of change and renewal.
The Baisakhi celebrations at Shiksha Niketan Sr. Secondary School served as a vibrant ode to tradition, culture, and the spirit of unity, leaving an indelible mark on all who partook in the festivities.
