NC helping BJP in Lok Sabha elections: PDP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 12: Within minutes after the National Conference announced its candidates for the remaining two seats of Kashmir Valley, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) stepped up attacks on its arch-rival in the Valley. “National Conference is responsible for breaking of Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) in J&K”, PDP candidate for Srinagar seat Wahid-ur-Rehman Parra told media persons. Parra alleged that by announcing a candidate for south Kashmir’s Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat the National Conference has made its intention clear to sabotage opposition unity. “National Conference is helping and facilitating BJP in the ongoing Parliament elections in J&K”, Parra said and added that earlier it was BJP versus others in J&K but now the NC has made it PDP versus National Conference on three seats of Kashmir Valley. “The National Conference has changed the goal post”, he said. Meanwhile, PDP leader Dr Mehboob Beig has said that the BJP has derailed the identity and status of the State of Jammu & Kashmir by converting it into two union territories in 2019. “Since then instead of witnessing comprehensive development Jammu and Kashmir has been totally pushed into an atmosphere of political uncertainty which resulted in the loss of its identity, right over jobs, and opportunities of trade, transport, and business”, he said. While replying to NC’s decision Dr Mehboob Beig said that while it is their own party matter it was a great opportunity and will of the people of Jammu & Kashmir for unified electoral resistance against BJP which was the need of the hour for the collective cause of Jammu and Kashmir's identity and dignity to strengthen the region's voice against ongoing oppression from BJP. |
