Narcotic smuggling bid foiled, one held with 115 grams Charas | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, Apr 12: In a decisive move against narcotics smuggling, Ramban Police, under Operation Sanjeevani and the astute guidance of SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar IPS, thwarted a narcotics smuggling attempt in Ramban area, apprehending one individual with a significant quantity of Charas-like substance. A reliable sources alerted Police Station Ramban about the illicit activities of Mohd Younis, suspected of being involved in the illegal smuggling of Chars, a narcotic contraband substance. Mohd Younis, a resident of Ward No. 01 Ramban, Tehsil, and District Ramban, was reportedly in possession of Charas and was traveling in an auto-load carrier with registration number JK19-2133 (Blue Colour) from Ward No. 1 Ramban. Acting swiftly, a case under FIR No. 78/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered, and PSI Shiv Dutt was assigned the investigation. Upon receiving the information, a police team established a checkpoint along with a Magistrate and intercepted Mohd Younis. Subsequently, 115 grams of Charas-like substance were recovered from Mohd Younis Sheikh, son of Abdul Salam Sheikh, residing in Ward No. 1 Ramban. The accused has been apprehended, and the contraband has been seized. Investigations are underway to uncover any connections or networks associated with this illegal activity. The arrest and seizure were executed by Police team of PS Ramban under the guidance of SHO Ramban,under the supervision of Dy.Sp Hq Ramban, Adl.SP Ramban and under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban. |
