Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan remembered on his birth anniversary

UDHAMPUR, Apr 20: The 35th birth anniversary of Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan was celebrated with devotion and patriotic fervor by Martyr Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust on Thursday. On the occasion, heartfelt tributes were paid to the martyr who sacrificed his life for the motherland. A function was held at Shivalik College of Education in which students of college and Happy model Higher Secondary School participated . Students threw light on life of the martyr and his sacrifice for the nation. Students also presented patriotic songs in his memory.
A painting and speech competition on theme "Nation First" was also held on the occasion. Prizes were distributed among those who secured first, second and third positions in both the competitions .
Chairman Tushar Memorial Trust, Professor Dev Raj Gupta ,Secretary Shewatketu Singh, Principal Shivalik college of Education Dr Vikram Gulati, Principal Happy model Muneesh Gulati, along with the Trust members Ranjit Parihar, Vikas Manhas, Dr Yogeshwar Gupta, Satish Chopra,Deepanker Gupta, Adv Karun Raina and large number of school and college students were present on the occasion.
Chairman of trust Prof Dev Raj Gupta, Dr vikram gulati and Ranjit parihar Speaking on the occasion, said that it is imperative to honor our heroes especially the martyrs who have laid down their lives for safeguarding the nation as it imbibes a sense of patriotism and linkage to ones country. He added that his courage, devotion and sacrifice for the nation will always be remembered and keep inspiring all of us.
Gupta also highlighted various activities being carried out by trust throught year for the welfare of society after the martyrdom of captain tushar. On the occasion drawing competition, Speech competition and Poetry competition was held in which students of BED College and school students participated. Shivansh parihar, Maheshbeen and Arun secured first ,second and third postion in speech competition in junior group respectively while Arushi, Ritika and Divyanshi secured first, second and third position in senior wing. Harkirat singh, Ansh Sharma and Nahi manhas secured first second third in drawing competition respectively While Rudransh, Piya and Saneha ist second and third in poetry competition respectively.
Earlier a wreath laying ceremony was held at the statue of the Martyr at Tushar Morh Udhampur where trust members and large number of people paid rich floral tribute to brave heart. Candles were lit up in the evening and a cake was also cut by the Trust.
